  • Great fishing, diving and snorkeling

  • Excellent restaurants and supermarkets

  • Shopping and other amenities from laid-back to world-class

... these are just a few of the attractions of VP5 for amateur radio "ham radio" at Harbour Rock villa. No island hopping prop planes needed. Reasonable non-stop jet service by all major airlines from gateway cities to Providenciales International Airport (PLS).

Our luxury vacation villa “Harbour Rock” is built on a full acre on a quiet private road about 100 feet above the sea with magnificent panoramic ocean views over Turtle Cove Marina and Grace Bay. A variety of bars, restaurants, beach access points and a dive center are just a short walk away. Use of our included Jeep Wrangler automatic will take you to the local grocery, to exciting shops or let you explore the island to find hidden coves with virtually private beaches.
Harbour Rock has four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, well-equipped kitchen, a large great room with wide deck and infinity-edge private pool overlooking the ocean. Sea breezes crossing the island mean you might never want to turn on the AC. Internet and TV are provided.

Harbour Rock is a top quality vacation home for anyone. But for the ham, DX’ing or contesting is irresistible at a QTH where you can start your own pileup. If you live in a restricted neighborhood, have limited antennas, or just want to operate a great station from a fantastic location, Harbour Rock is your destination. The non-hams in your family or group will also thank you for their wonderful vacation at Harbour Rock. Although it produces outstanding contest and DX results, Harbour Rock is not a complicated station-- just a practical, balanced DX setup for the vacationing ham. See The Station page.

If you plan to operate ham radio at our rental, be sure to contact Jim K4QPL before booking.

OPERATING AT HARBOUR ROCK

Jim Jordan, K4QPL, put Harbour Rock on the air for the first time in a major contest using the special callsign VP5M for CQ WPX-CW at the end of May, 2016. Since then, thousands of QSO's have been made from Harbour Rock including CQWW CW (VP5M), CQWW SSB (VP5W). CQWPX SSB (VP5P) ARRL DX CW (VP5K) and ARRL DX SSB (VP5V).  Teams have already reserved the station for future contests. Get the latest information query VP5m on QRZ.com

The tower base is about 100 feet above Turtle Cove marina, Grace Bay and the Caribbean Sea looking in a sweeping northerly direction towards the US, Canada and Europe. The three element SteppIR yagi was chosen for its broad coverage including WARC bands, great performance, simplicity and the 180 degree reversing feature for South America and long path to EU without rotation. After suffering damage during Hurricane IRMA, the SteppIR has been upgraded with a 40M loop and new controller which plays VERY well.

DX'ING FOR FUN! You don't have to be a contester to enjoy operating at Harbour Rock. Phone or CW, send a CQ and you'll have all the QSO's you want.

"DON'T JUST WORK DX--BE DX!”
